Celebrating Coyotes Week
March 16–22, 2026 | A Week of Learning and Storytelling Ahead of National Coyote Day on March 23rd, 2026
As we lead up to National Coyote Day on March 23, 2026, we invite you to join us for Celebrating Coyotes Week — a time dedicated to recognizing one of North America’s most intelligent, adaptable, and misunderstood wild neighbours.
Coyotes are deeply family-oriented animals, raising their pups cooperatively and forming strong lifelong pair bonds with their mates. They play a vital role in maintaining healthy ecosystems by helping control rodent populations and naturally balancing the environments they share with us.
During this special week, we want to celebrate the countless positive and meaningful encounters people have had with coyotes. Whether it’s a quiet moment watching a coyote cross a field at sunrise, hearing their evening chorus, or witnessing their devotion to their families, sharing these experiences will help foster appreciation and understanding.
We invite you to share your stories, artwork, photos, videos, and poems about coyotes with Coyote Watch Canada. Selected submissions will be featured throughout Celebrating Coyotes Week (March 16 – 22) on our social media channels, as we count down to National Coyote Day on March 23. Your contribution will promote respectful coexistence and help dispel the myths about these remarkable animals.
You can upload your submission here — it will only take a few minutes of your time to share your creativity and personal experiences. Everyone who participates will be entered into a draw to win a special prize of CWC swag!
Together, let’s celebrate coyotes — their resilience, their family bonds, their voices across the landscape, and the important role they play in the natural world we all share.

By sharing stories, knowledge, and respectful lived experiences with wildlife, we help inspire today’s community members and tomorrow’s nature stewards. When people learn to see coyotes not with fear, but with understanding and respect, we take an important step toward protecting biodiversity and foster healthier relationships with the natural world.
