Celebrating Coyotes Week: A Snapshot

March 17–22, 2026 | Leading into National Coyote Day – March 23

Celebrating Coyotes Week is a community storytelling and learning experience dedicated to one of North America’s most intelligent and adaptable wild neighbors. Throughout the week, we invite people of all ages to discover the lives of coyotes, reflect on their role in healthy ecosystems, and share meaningful encounters with what are often called North America’s song dogs.

Each day highlights a different aspect of coyote life—from their remarkable family bonds and vocal “chorus” communication to the important ecological role they play in balancing natural landscapes. Through stories, observations, and creative expression, participants will explore how understanding wildlife can lead to respectful coexistence.

What Participants Can Expect
During Celebrating Coyotes Week, our community will experience:

• Daily themes highlighting different aspects of coyote life
• Shared stories and photographs from community members
• Wildlife education resources that support coexistence
• Reflections on how coyotes contribute to healthy ecosystems
• Opportunities for people of all ages to engage with nature

Together, these daily moments help foster curiosity, compassion, and a deeper appreciation for wildlife that lives alongside us.

• Lessons learned through respectful wildlife encounters

Selected contributions may be featured during the week and throughout the year as part of our ongoing effort to promote awareness and coexistence.

Inspiring Today, Tomorrow, and Future Wildlife Advocates
Celebrating Coyotes Week is more than a series of posts—it’s an invitation to build a culture of curiosity and stewardship.

By sharing stories, knowledge, and respectful experiences with wildlife, we help inspire today’s community members and tomorrow’s nature stewards. When people learn to see coyotes not with fear, but with understanding and respect, we take an important step toward protecting biodiversity and fostering healthier relationships with the natural world.

Every observation shared, every story told, and every thoughtful conversation helps nurture the next generation of wildlife advocates.

🐺 Join us March 17–22 as we celebrate coyotes, learn together, and strengthen our commitment to living thoughtfully alongside the wild world we share.
